Su Xiao, an 18th-tier actress relying on “vicious supporting roles” to get by, has hated top star Gu Jingshen for three years—his comment “you only know how to pretend” cost her her first second female lead role. Now, she finally lands the vicious imperial concubine role in the big-budget *Palace Snow*, but the male lead is Gu Jingshen! The director demands “immersive hostility training” or replacement. Su Xiao has to “act as enemies” with him daily: snatching props on set, sarcastic jabs in interviews—all “in character”. But she soon finds Gu’s “meanness” is fake: he secretly changes her slapping scene to avoid pain, shields her from stalkers (getting his arm scratched), and knows she visits an orphanage every night. When paparazzi capture Gu tying her scarf, he smiles at the press conference: “We’ve played enemies for three years, but from today, I want to play her true love.”
