30-year-old Lin Xiaoman stumbles upon an unsent love letter from her first love Chen Mo—who vanished a decade ago—among her mother’s old belongings. Tracking the address to an ancient town, she meets Lu Shi, a café owner who looks identical to Chen Mo. Lu Shi denies any connection to Chen Mo, yet the café’s phonograph and hand-painted starry sky walls are all secrets shared between her and Chen Mo back then. As Lin Xiaoman digs deeper into the truth, she uncovers a lie behind the accident ten years prior: Chen Mo fell into a coma saving her, and Lu Shi is a “parallel universe doppelgänger” he created with his last consciousness, solely to fulfill their promise of “opening a café together.” When the truth comes to light, Lu Shi’s existence begins to fade, forcing Lin Xiaoman to choose between “holding onto the memory” and “letting Chen Mo truly live.”
