Su Xiao, an 18th-tier actress, lurks in hospital corridors practicing coughs and shaky walks to land the role of a frail noble lady in a period drama. She mistakes Gu Yan, an intern doctor investigating insurance fraud with a medical record folder, for a harsh assistant director— the harder she acts "sick," the more Gu Yan is convinced she’s a fraudster. They start by sabotaging each other, then team up: Su Xiao uses Gu Yan’s medical expertise to perfect her "frail vibe," while Gu Yan leverages her acting skills to catch real fraudsters. But when Su Xiao collapses from an old injury, Gu Yan finds her hidden old medical records in her makeup box— realizing the most genuine thing in their "acting battle" is the vulnerability she’s hidden for years.
