Lin Xiaoman, the "ultimate unlucky girl" in the workplace, picks up a broken pen on her way home from overtime—out pops Gu Zhao, a古装 handsome man who claims to be the "Lucky Star Pen Spirit" trapped inside. He offers to grant her any wish, but the price is "exchanging her most cherished emotions". After using the pen to deal with a backstabbing colleague and get a promotion, Xiaoman realizes her passion for life is fading away little by little; while Gu Zhao's true identity is actually the ancient Lucky Star who lost his divine power for saving her in a past life. When the pen's side effects start to backfire, the two must choose between "changing their fate" and "keeping their true selves". Until the end, they understand: the best blessing is never written by a pen—it's the unchanged heart they find in each other when they meet again.
