Lin Chuan, the abandoned son of a treasure-appraising family, accidentally awakens the "Heaven's Eye"—a power that lets him "read" antiques: he can sense the kiln temperature of a porcelain piece from a hundred years ago with his fingertips, and distinguish the fingerprint of the craftsman who cast a bronze with a glance—while fighting to clear his wrongfully imprisoned adoptive father's name. But just as he touches the pattern of his family's heirloom jade plaque, his uncle frames him as a "treasure thief," turning him into a laughingstock of the city. When he shows up at a top auction with a broken porcelain bowl he picked up, everyone waits to see him make a fool of himself—until the Heaven's Eye lights up: the seal of Emperor Taizu of Song slowly emerges at the bottom of the bowl, while the "blue and white plum vase" hailed as the "treasure of the auction"台上 is oozing pungent aging paint. Between the宗族 conspiracy that wants him dead and the truth about his origins hidden in antiques, Lin Chuan holds the glowing bowl and finally understands: what he's appraising is never just treasure—it's the "debts of the living" hidden in time.
