Lin Xiaoman, a high school sophomore in JK uniform, jumps into an artificial river to retrieve her phone and unexpectedly fishes out Gu Zhao, a "River God" in black ancient clothing—he's trapped in the human world for breaking celestial rules and can only return to heaven by collecting "tears untainted by the secular world".
