Lin Zhao, a newly appointed jinshi (scholar-official), takes office as Fuliang's magistrate. Upon arrival, he finds tea merchants besieging the yamen—local tea farmers have gone missing one after another, yet tea taxes have tripled. Gentry collude with officials to frame farmers for "tax evasion". The clever tea girl A Ruan, who helps him investigate, is the daughter of a missing farmer, and the mastermind is his immediate superior! Torn between protecting the people and官场's unspoken rules, Lin Zhao must solve the disappearance case and overturn fake tax records within 7 days, or the farmers will be exiled. Can he tear through the darkness alone and restore justice to Fuliang?
