Jiang Tang (played by Tian Jiuluo), newly appointed as the Empress, is determined to be a "lazy fish" in the harem—no fighting for the emperor's favor, no taking sides, just hiding in Suiyu Pavilion eating osmanthus cakes every day. But Emperor Liu Ning (played by Liu Ning) is like a piece of sticky glue, coming to her palace every day: snatching her cakes, dragging her to watch the moon in the imperial garden, even secretly defending her when she's bullied by other concubines. Jiang Tang panics more as she tries to avoid him: Is the emperor obsessed with her? Until one day, she finds an old handkerchief under Liu Ning's pillow—it's the token from the little beggar she saved ten years ago! It turns out, his "pestering" has always been a search spanning a decade.
