Su Wan, a meek single mother, is always robbed of credit by colleagues at work and faces her ex-husband's attempt to take custody of their 5-year-old daughter, Xiaotang, claiming she's “incapable of raising her.” Until one day, Xiaotang suddenly says she can hear animals' voices—stray cats expose her supervisor's bribery, neighborhood dogs warn of her ex-husband's custody plot, and even a pet parrot helps her land a big client. Once a “pushover” hiding in corners, Su Wan tears off her unfair label with the help of her daughter and the “animal army,” transforming from a bullied underdog into a bold, proactive leading lady. In this counterattack, the warmest part is the mother-daughter pair supporting each other, turning “being protected” into “mutual守护.”
