Returning architect Zhang Tingrui comes back to his wildfire-ravaged hometown with an "internet-famous village" renovation plan, only to run into Zuo Yi—the female village official clinging to the ruins. This former tomboy who saved him from a fire years ago is now fighting desperately to preserve the old opera stage, ancient locust tree, even every blackened brick. They clash fiercely over reconstruction ideas, but one night, sorting through villagers' old photos, they find a ginkgo leaf Zuo Yi hid in his schoolbag 15 years ago, along with the unspoken "I'll wait for you." When bulldozers approach the locust tree at dawn, Zhang Tingrui suddenly pulls out a revised design—this time, he wants to build a "spring with the warmth of home."
