Restorer Su Wan travels to an old Jiangnan mansion to repair an ancient painting, fulfilling her grandmother's last wish. There, she meets Lin Shen, a mysterious man who can read the erased poem in the painting under the moonlight. Strange things happen: the woman in the painting "comes alive" on moonlit nights, Su Wan dreams of herself in ancient clothes waiting for someone at a ferry, and Lin Shen's pendant matches the jade pendant left by her grandmother. As they repair the broken "ferry" in the painting, past-life memories flood in—they were a Northern Song painter and a ferry guardian, separated by war, vowing to reunite at the moonlit ferry in the next life. But the "soul-locking array" in the painting is slowly draining Su Wan's life force. On the full moon night, Lin Shen must choose: uphold the past promise, or let her live in the present?
