Lin Xiaoman, a bookstore clerk in a small town, has a secret—she's secretly loved Lu Mingyuan, the watchmaker next door, for three years. The morning osmanthus cakes, the 'chance encounters' by taking detours, and the excuse of repairing books—all are her feelings hidden in the moonlight. But Lu Mingyuan was always as unyielding as cold jade, until the news of his departure spread. On the full moon night, Lin Xiaoman finally stood in front of the watch shop with the last piece of osmanthus cake. To her surprise, Lu Mingyuan took out an old pocket watch engraved with osmanthus fragrance, and the yellowed letter inside read: 'Find the girl with the half jade pendant—she is the moonlight I left you.' It turns out his silence was a deeper hidden love than hers.
