Lin Shen, a top modern investor, accidentally travels back to the 1980s and becomes a poor young man dumped by his fiancée. To reclaim the original owner's dignity and investigate his mother's murder, he pretends to be a "returnee tycoon"—using modern business acumen to sell electronic watches and open video halls, shaking up an era of material scarcity. His ex-girlfriend Su Xiaomei crawls back when she sees his success, while Zhou Wantang, the gentle nurse next door, spots his little "pretending to be rich" flaws. Rival Zhao Jianjun keeps sabotaging him, even trying to expose his identity... When the "fake tycoon" meets someone who truly cares, and the past truth emerges, can Lin Shen stay true to himself in the 80s and win both career and love?
