Lin Wan, a rookie female lawyer, takes on the "manslaughter case" of migrant worker Zhou Qiang— the victim is the contractor who owed him wages, and surveillance footage shows "Zhou Qiang pushing him while drunk". But Lin Wan discovers Zhou Qiang never drinks, and the footage has obvious editing traces. During her investigation, she is warned by the opposing lawyer (her ex-fiancé) and receives anonymous threats: "You'll regret it if you keep digging." It turns out the contractor's death was a plot by his partner to embezzle the construction site compensation. Lin Wan finds testimony from a cleaning lady who witnessed the incident and restores the complete surveillance footage, finally bringing the real culprit to justice.
