In her past life, Lin Wanwan abandoned her rural husband Gu Jingshen to return to the city, only to suffer loneliness and regret. Reborn in 1975, the moment she receives the return order, she tears it up immediately—this time, she wants to stay with the man who secretly saved her warm steamed buns and climbed two mountains in the rain to buy brown sugar for her. But Gu Jingshen, looking at the shredded paper, his eyes red: “Wanwan, are you lying to me again?” It turns out he had saved industrial coupons for half a year to buy her a new cotton-padded jacket; it turns out he stayed up boiling ginger tea last night, fearing she’d be cold on the way back. When Lin Wanwan holds the old sweater he hid under the pillow, when her stepsister brings another “return recommendation letter,” she clutches Gu Jingshen’s hand: “What I’ve always wanted isn’t a city household registration—it’s life with you.” But will the source of the past tragedy come for them again?
