Lin Chuan, a former investment bank executive, lost his wife Su Xiao and daughter forever because he was obsessed with work—Su Xiao died in a rainstorm while waiting for him with their feverish daughter. On his deathbed, he screamed "I'm sorry" at their wedding photo, only to wake up in 2018, when he just started his business. This time, he skips overtime to pick up his daughter, meets clients at home to stay with Su Xiao, and even replaces his "Employee of the Year" trophy with his daughter's handmade craft. But just as he thinks he's making amends, his past rival Chen Mo returns early and pursues Su Xiao. To his shock, Su Xiao has been staring at her old necklace lately, and he finds a diary entry: "If I could do it over, I wouldn't wait for you." Lin Chuan realizes rebirth isn't his solo redemption—he's here to reclaim the family he once lost.
