A modern racer, Kai, accidentally travels to ancient times and breaks into the empress's bath chamber to peek, only to be caught red-handed. Tired of forced political marriages, the empress comes up with a plan: she forces Kai, this mysterious stranger from another time, to marry her as a shield to avoid noble ministers' marriage demands. Kai, who just wants to survive in this strange era, gets entangled by the empress and starts a hilarious daily life in the palace as her “husband”, while developing ambiguous feelings for the powerful empress.
