Retired war god Lin Xiao, to test the sincerity of those around him, deliberately pretended to be seriously ill and collapsed under the old tree at the alley entrance. The neighbors and disciples who usually flattered him either ran away or sneered, "The old guy is finally done," except for A Xing, a waste-collecting teenager, who squatted down to give him warm water, wipe his face, and even offered to carry him to the hospital. Lin Xiao suddenly sat up—he wasn't sick at all! After exposing everyone's hypocrisy in public, he took out the "invincible martial arts secret" he'd hidden for 30 years and gave it to A Xing. A Xing was stunned when he opened the silk: it said, "Sincerity begets sincerity; guarding your heart is guarding your skill." Later, with this初心 (original heart), A Xing not only learned Lin Xiao's unique skills but also became the alley's guardian, while those snobbish people never dared to show their faces again.
