In the old lane of 1999, top student Lin Xiaoman ducked into a video store to escape rain and accidentally hid Chen Mo—who was being chased—into the warehouse. Ten years later, Xiaoman, now a TV director, found a VHS tape: the footage showed her studying for the college entrance exam, and Chen Mo's voice came from off-screen: "I saved enough for a new motorcycle. When the millennium bell rings, I'll take you to see fireworks..." The time on the screen froze at 00:00 on January 1, 2000.
