Shen Youning, determined to escape her betrothal to the emperor, deliberately tans her skin and acts rough to join the imperial选秀 (xuanxiu), aiming to be rejected—only to be titled 'Concubine Ka' because the young emperor on the dragon throne had recognized her as his childhood savior from a decade prior. To 'lose his favor', she brings him ultra-spicy hot pot daily, steps on his dragon robe at banquets, and even elbows him so hard his chest reddens. Yet the emperor plays along with her tricks, secretly shielding her from palace schemes. Until a cat demon attacks one night, and Youning reveals the jade pendant from their childhood while protecting him—their mutual unspoken love is about to be exposed. When the one who's 'hiding' crashes into the one who's 'waiting', this 'deliberate accident' is set to become the sweetest entanglement.
