In Chinese culture, red pens are widely associated with misfortune. Su Wan, a florist played by Ni Nan, and Gu Yan, an architect played by Wei Yifei, quarrel. Out of pique, Su Wan writes Gu Yan’s name in red. That night, Gu Yan falls into a coma from an accident. Tormented by guilt, Su Wan looks for answers and finds the red line was actually a draft to draw his features—her awkward words led to this tragic romance.
