Su Wan, a woman waiting for her lover Gu Chen’s return, welcomes Chen Mo (played by Cheng Yue), a stranger claiming to be Gu Chen’s subordinate. He acts familiar but remains silent about the past, only bringing the news that "Gu Chen is dead". Refusing to believe it, Su Wan secretly investigates and finds Gu Chen’s keepsake hidden on Chen Mo. It turns out that in an accident seven years ago, Gu Chen "faked his death" to protect her, changed his name and hid in the crowd. Now he returns to resolve family feuds and make up for past debts. But Su Wan has worn out her love in endless waiting—will this reunion as a "stranger" be a torturous romance or a belated redemption?
