Lin Xiaoman, an intern reporter, takes an unlicensed "mysterious car" to investigate a series of disappearances. The driver, Zhou Yan, is silent and odd—strange traces like a burning-hot empty seat, leftover perfume, and a navigation system fixated on a three-year-old accident site plague the car. As they drive, Xiaoman learns Zhou Yan survived that accident; he’s guarding the car, waiting for his missing girlfriend. Worse, all her missing subjects once rode this car. When his girlfriend’s figure appears on the mountain road and pursuers close in, they must unravel the three-year-old truth in the car’s cycle—and confront the love hidden beneath their fear.
