Lin Wan, codenamed "Black Rose", is a corporate spy determined to uncover the truth behind her father's death. She infiltrates Gu's Group as a secretary to get close to Gu Shiyan, the genius trader and core figure of the group—whom she believes is the "son of her enemy". As she schemes to gather evidence of Gu's illegal activities, she gradually discovers the loneliness and tenderness beneath Gu Shiyan's cold exterior: he brings her hot cocoa when she works late, silently gives her an umbrella when she's caught in the rain, and even risks his life to protect her when she's in danger. Just as Lin Wan obtains the fatal evidence and prepares to expose Gu's Group, she stumbles upon a shocking truth—her father's death was a frame-up against the Gu family.
