Su Wan, an emergency department doctor, accidentally gains the ability to see medical terms of patients. She reunites with her old lover Gu Yan, who disappeared three years ago, during a consultation. Gu Yan is now a patient with advanced brain cancer, and the term "metastatic brain cancer" pains Su Wan—she finally understands why Gu Yan left without saying goodbye back then: to raise money for her treatment.
