Social-phobic romance screenwriter Su Xiaoman struggles with her love plot to the point of losing hair. Her neighbor Lu Zhao is a sharp-tongued but kind vet—when her cat gets acute gastroenteritis and she seeks help, she’s “tied” to be his “dating partner” to fend off marriage-pressuring relatives. But fake interactions turn real: Lu takes her to see night views for inspiration and hides her favorite taro milk tea; Xiaoman leaves a porch light on for him and writes his clinic into her script as a “love landmark.” When their “partner deal” ends, neither dares to confess—until her cat plays matchmaker, bringing Lu’s love letter right to her.
