Lin Xiaoman, a modern corporate slave, is reborn in 1959 as Lin Zhaodi, a rural girl struggling to feed her family. From bickering to bonding, when Lin finally gets the city hukou, Chen Mo hands her a crumpled love letter: “Can I join your city dream too?”
