Lin Xiaoman, an overworked office worker, hits rock bottom: her late father left a million-yuan debt, her grandma’s uremia can’t be treated due to lack of money, and her five-year boyfriend dumps her for a rich heiress. But as life gets better, Xiaoman finds A Yin’s body fading—heaven’s rule: every time a Nian Beast interferes with mortal fate, their soul dissipates. She cries and hugs him: “I don’t want luck anymore, I just want you.” A Yin smiles and touches her head: “Silly girl, my only wish has always been to make you happy.”
