Dashan, a young man from Northeast China, brings his family's secret barbecue recipe to the city to start a business. However, his rough street style and strong northeastern accent lead to discrimination from local vendors, and his stall is even taken over. Instead of giving up, he improves the recipe by combining city people's tastes and uses hometown special ingredients to make a unique dipping sauce, making his barbecue incredibly delicious. Later he meets Xiaotao, a city girl also pushed out by vendors, and they help each other. Eventually, Dashan gains a firm foothold in the snack street, wins back his stall, builds a successful business, and falls in love with Xiaotao.
