The Lin brothers—three poor villagers with the eldest lame, the second dull, and the third sickly—live in a leaky adobe house, surviving on chaff and vegetables. One day, while cutting firewood, they rescue 5-year-old Xiaotang, who was tied to a tree by human traffickers. The little girl, as cute as a powder dumpling, clings to the third brother’s neck and calls him "brother," so the brothers take her home out of pity. To their surprise, Xiaotang is a "lucky star": she makes their vegetable patch grow full ridges of big radishes, finds wild ginseng in the back mountain that sells for ten taels of silver, and even gradually heals the third brother’s leg! Worse, when Xiaotang is pushed into a well by a bully, she triggers a "space system"—inside there’s endless food, herbs, and gold! The Lin family suddenly prospers: they build a brick house, open a medicine shop, and even the county magistrate comes to beg for "magic ginseng." But the bully, jealous of their success, tries to kidnap Xiaotang. The brothers hold hoes and protect her: "Whoever touches our sister must get through us first!" Xiaotang takes out a gold brick and says crisply: "Brothers, don’t be angry. Let’s buy candy for uncle, okay?" Just as the family is thriving, a lady in brocade arrives, claiming Xiaotang is her lost daughter...
