In the old alleys of the 1980s, the four Zhang sisters grew up crammed in a shabby attic—Eldest Xiuhua gave up school to work in a factory to support the family after their father’s death; Second Xiumin hid her college admission letter and worked part-time secretly to save tuition; Third Xiuqin sold tapes at a stall, chased by urban management; Youngest Xiuyun, rebellious, skipped school with delinquents. When Xiuhua was bullied by her workshop director, Xiumin’s tuition was stolen, and Xiuqin’s goods were confiscated, the girls cried together but then pooled money for Xiumin, helped Xiuqin restart her stall, and fought for Xiuhua. The trials in daily life turned into deep sisterly love—with their stubbornness, they turned hard days into warmth that touches the heart.
