Su Wan poisons the tyrannical Emperor Murong Jing to avenge her father and finds a street boy with a similar face to impersonate the emperor to cover her tracks. To her shock, the boy is Murong Zhao, Murong Jing’s twin brother—once a prince secretly sent out of the palace by the late emperor! Murong Zhao has long known Su Wan’s revenge plan and deliberately approaches her as the double: while pretending to be a puppet emperor to stabilize the court, he secretly investigates his brother’s death. As Su Wan spends time with him, she discovers Murong Zhao is not a cold-blooded royal—he has ambitions to save the people and even falls in love with her. When old court factions sense the emperor’s “abnormality” and try to expose the fake, Su Wan realizes: she’s trapped in a power struggle and has fallen in love with her enemy’s brother in this “fake-to-real” deception…
