Lin Xiaoman is a soul ferryman hiding in the "Guixu Inn" in the old alley. Every midnight, she sets up a stall on time—with only a soul-guiding lamp and three bowls of Meng Po Tea on the cloth, specializing in taking in ghosts with unfulfilled obsessions. Until the amnesiac Gu Chuan stumbles in: he can not only see the soul-guiding lamp (untouchable by mortals) but also always "meddles": helping a ghost mother send dreams to her husband, retrieving military medals for a fallen soldier... What's more shocking is that the concentric lock on Gu Chuan's wrist is the token of love she lost in her previous life! When Gu Chuan's identity as a "living soul unentered into reincarnation" is exposed, Lin Xiaoman's sealed thousand-year memories flood in: in her past life, she burned her soul to save Gu Chuan and became a ferryman, but forgot to tell him—she never wanted to be a soul ferryman; she just wanted to be his Xiaoman...
