Lin Wan, a down-and-out agent who was blacklisted for taking the blame for her artist, and Lu Zhao, a former Best Actor封杀 (blacklisted) by capital for refusing unspoken rules and reduced to a bit-player. A drunk encounter leads Lin Wan to mistake Lu Zhao for an unemployed youth, vowing to “take him to counterattack” — not knowing this man who can’t even get a boxed lunch is the “white moonlight” she watched three times in the cinema years ago. When a落魄 (down-and-out) agent meets a blacklisted影帝, a battle of “tearing each other down yet backing each other up” begins: Lin Wan is scolded to tears while fighting for a role for Lu Zhao, but Lu Zhao secretly uses his old connections to secure resources for her; when Lu Zhao is surrounded by anti-fans, Lin Wan shouts with a megaphone, “I’m the one who warmed his light.” Until after a celebration party, Lu Zhao presses Lin Wan against the backstage wall and pulls out her old fan letter: “Actually, you were the one who granted me light first.”
