Shen Zhaotang, a traditional Xiangyun silk craftsman, has to strike a deal with Lin Wan, a fashion designer here to steal the formula, to save his family's dyeing workshop—she helps him restore endangered cloud silk patterns, and he gets her a spot in an international design competition. With their own agendas, they gradually understand each other's obsession with Xiangyun silk while guarding the dye vats day and night: one wants to 'preserve' the root, the other to 'revive' the soul. When the disguise of interest is torn, will they keep using each other, or guard this old dream of cloud silk together?
