A modern poetry enthusiast is reincarnated as a down-and-out teenager in an alternate world, staying at the mixed Joy-in-the-Rain Inn. He suffers constant ridicule and humiliation from local dandies and is implicated in a poetry-related injustice that harms the innocent.
