Lin Chuan, a down-and-out contractor on Earth, is owed wages and cheated on by his girlfriend. At his lowest point, he receives an offer to build infrastructure for a lunar base—because "Earth's 'unconventional methods' are exactly what the over-regulated moon needs." Reluctantly, he lands on the moon, only to clash with Su Xiao, a proud and acerbic research team leader, and face a deadly helium-3 energy module leak. Using his "down-to-earth construction tricks" (reinforcing the leak with steel pipe brackets), Lin saves the day and becomes the moon's "infrastructure hero."
