Su Wan, an overworked office drone, stumbles upon Gu Ye, a "gangster" being chased, after an all-nighter. Accidentally touching a family heirloom jade pendant, she ends up fate-bound to him—his bruises hurt her, her hunger gives him heartburn, and even her rants about her boss echo in his head! Forced to live together, they go from mutual loathing to uncovering each other's secrets: Gu Ye pretends to be a gangster to protect an orphanage, while Su Wan throws herself into work to avoid being abandoned again. When the orphanage faces demolition, their bound fate turns them into each other's armor. As past-life memories hidden in the jade slowly resurface, they realize they were always meant to be each other's salvation.
