In Republican-era Nanjing, Ah Zhao (Feng Huanhuan), a female老生 (old male role) from Fuxing Opera Troupe, breaks hearts with her rendition of *The Peach Blossom Fan*, yet hides a deadly secret—her father was killed for refusing to perform for the warlord Lei family. When Lei Jingchuan (Lei Yihao), the Lei family's young marshal, stumbles into the troupe, he falls for Ah Zhao's onstage heroism at first sight. He saves the troupe from destruction and pursues her relentlessly. Torn between revenge and love, Ah Zhao discovers Lei Jingchuan holds a hidden truth about her father's death... The tension between truth and affection, the joys and sorrows in the lyrics, will finally unravel beneath the peach blossom fan.
