Su Xiaoman, a city-bred educated youth, is sent to a remote mountainous camp in southwest China. She meets Lin Shen, the rugged leader of the local mountain team—wild as the mountain wind, brave enough to fight a black bear for honey, and daring to climb cliffs in rainstorms to deliver medicine. Lin drags her to learn herbal medicine, warms her with his body when she's feverish; she teaches him to read and write reports. Their love blooms like wild lilies in the forbidden era. But when the policy allows returning to the city, Su must choose: go back to her urban family, or stay with Lin and guard their wild mountain home?
