Su Ze, Lord of the Dark Gate, hides in the city as a deliveryman named "Chen Mo" to suppress the fatal fire poison in his body—relying on the warmth of ordinary life to curb the toxin while evading his old subordinates. Three years later, the Dark Gate's token, the "Red Lin Order," suddenly resurfaces. Missing old friends, the mysterious poison doctor Lin Xia, and a hidden mastermind emerge one after another. Su Ze thought he was an "outsider," but discovers he's been a "key piece" on someone's chessboard since day one: someone wants to use him to restart the Dark Gate, someone seeks revenge, and someone waits for him to uncover a ten-year-old truth. When the Dark Gate reopens, is he a pawn, or the one holding the chess pieces?
