The thousand-year-old Xu Qing Laozu accidentally turned into an eight-year-old child during his tribulation, relying on his adopted orphan Lin Xiaotang. Xiaotang worked everywhere to raise money for her grandma's medical bills but was owed wages by a black-hearted boss and cyberbullied for "taking a kid." Laozu secretly used his immortal powers to help her—producing spiritual fruits, using wind to deliver food—which went viral online as "an eight-year-old showing immortal arts." The whole internet begged to be his disciple, but Laozu refused capital's attempts to exploit him; he only wanted to help Xiaotang reverse their fortune. When accused of using special effects, he summoned rain with a sword in a live stream, turning a dry village into a peach forest. They not only paid off debts but also created a 1.5-billion-yuan miracle. Laozu always remembered his promise to Xiaotang: "I'm small now, but my heart to protect you never changes."
