Ordinary modern man Li Ming accidentally travels back to the Tang Dynasty and becomes a down-on-his-luck brewer. Determined to rise, he uses advanced techniques inspired by Maotai and Wuliangye to create exquisite wines, shocking the ancients. But envious master brewers conspire with local powerhouses to trap him, while a royal wine official covets his formula, dragging him into palace intrigues. On the romance front, sparks fly with a clever princess, but social divides threaten their bond. A grand wine-tasting event ignites a clash, where Ming's modern wit turns peril into triumph, exposing hypocrisy and winning unexpected redemption and respect.
