Top quantum scientist Lin Shen accidentally travels back to a famine-stricken Northwest Chinese village in 1959 due to a time machine malfunction. Bound to him is a "Future Research Lab" system, which holds prototypes of hybrid rice, blueprints for simple irrigation equipment, and other advanced technologies. He saves starving villagers by selling bricks for grain and grows vegetables in winter using greenhouses—only to attract opportunists coveting his achievements: some steal his "secret recipes" to make money, others frame him as a "spy". Just as the villagers go from doubting him to seeing him as their "miracle grandpa", an arson plot targeting the village collective grain warehouse is quietly closing in...
