Lin Chuan, a freshman at Tsinghua and Peking University, sells goods in the night market to earn tuition. When he rescues campus belle Su Wan from hooligans, he's falsely accused of harassment. Using his electronic skills, he modifies second-hand MP3s into a "1000-song Walkman 2.0", making tens of thousands daily but facing malicious reports from competitors. On opening day, Lin Chuan bursts into the auditorium with his device—he not only disproves the rumors with its performance but also pulls out a futures profit sheet: he'd already earned enough tuition, just wanting to launch this "epoch-making MP3" on opening day. And the chip design in his pocket? It's the start of a hundred-billion tech dream to break foreign monopolies.
