In 1998, Lin Hao arrives in Guancheng with his terminally ill girlfriend Xiaoyun and debt-ridden brother A Qiang—all they have is three yuan. To pay Xiaoyun’s surgery fees, Lin takes a job as a brick carrier, but offends a local gang when he protects A Qiang from debt collectors.
