Rural guy Lin Chuan, just down from the mountains, breaks his grandfather’s heirloom jade plaque—the “soul of the Lin family” his grandfather protected with his life—while saving a drowning child. Desperate and weeping by the river, the broken jade merges into his palm, granting him “antique empathy”: he can see cracks in jade mending and fake antiques glowing with false veins! He restores the heirloom jade flawlessly and helps a neighbor expose a fake porcelain scam. But when he hopes to change his fate, an anonymous letter threatens: “Hand over the jade, or your grandfather’s secret goes public.” What’s in his grandfather’s diary? And what conspiracy is targeting him?
