Alang, a poor teen in a coastal town, rescues an injured little mermaid while clamming. The mermaid rewards him with a mermaid's eye that identifies treasures, making Alang rich overnight. This arouses villagers' jealousy and plots, while underground forces covet the mermaid clan's secret, aiming to capture the mermaid for the eye. To protect the clan's secret and his life, Alang uses the eye's power and his courage to foil rivals' plots, achieving a counterattack from a poor boy to a wealthy man, and becomes a guardian between the mermaid clan and humans.
