During the severe drought and famine in the 1970s, a young man is cruelly abandoned by his family due to patriarchal bias. Cornered and desperate, his loyal dog Dahuang leads him to a mysterious spirit spring space. Crops watered by the spring grow wildly, and he even finds rare treasures in the mountains. With abundant resources from the space, he not only provides enough food for his wife and daughter, but also helps the whole village escape from hunger and cold, turning himself from an abandoned child into a respected local leader.
