A modern man accidentally travels to ancient times and becomes an unjustly imprisoned son-in-law. Saved by the eldest princess at the brink of death, he composes a hundred poems at the royal banquet to mock the fatuous emperor, drawing a death sentence and forcing him to flee. During his escape, he makes careful plans and sneaks into the palace three times, helping the princess seize power and ascend the throne. As the power is settled, his ancient wife learns the truth and arrives with a sword, bringing a new crisis.
